I believe God cares about every part of us — our minds, our bodies, our relationships, and our souls. That's why I offer counseling that brings together good clinical care and the hope of the Christian faith.
It isn't a sermon, and it isn't a replacement for proven therapy. It's professional counseling by someone who shares your faith and is comfortable bringing it into the conversation. That may include:
Prayer at the beginning or end of a session, if you would like.
Scripture that speaks to what you are walking through.
Exploring how your beliefs about God, yourself, and others shape your thoughts and feelings.
Working through spiritual questions, doubts, or church hurt in a safe place.
Connecting rest, forgiveness, gratitude, and community with your spiritual life.
At our first session, we'll talk about what role you want faith to play. Some clients want prayer and Scripture woven throughout; others want a Christian perspective without much explicit faith discussion; some are unsure where they stand with God right now. All of that is okay, and you can change your mind at any time. I will never pressure you, judge you, or push beliefs on you.
Whether you're a lifelong believer, a new believer, someone hurt by church, or simply curious, you are welcome here. If you'd prefer a counselor who doesn't bring faith into sessions at all, I'm glad to help you find one.
As an LPC Associate, I use research-supported methods and follow Texas standards for professional counseling. Faith adds depth and hope to that work; it doesn't replace it. When needed, I'll coordinate with your doctor, psychiatrist, or pastor — only with your written permission.
